Writing in Naperville

IPSD 204 and District 203 consistently rank among the top public school systems in Illinois. Neuqua Valley, Naperville Central, and Waubonsie Valley each send hundreds of students to competitive universities every year. The academic bar is high and the parent community is involved. School writing instruction runs 25 to 30 students per class, which makes weekly individual feedback impossible. That gap is exactly what LTWN fills. Naperville is our home market. Aruna Davis worked with Naperville families for years before LTWN moved fully online, and we know the IPSD 204 AP English track, the IAR writing demands, and the standardized testing calendar firsthand.

Programs for Naperville students

Grades 2 to 8 families typically start with LTWN 360. Students preparing for the SAT or PSAT move to our Test Prep program in 8th or 9th grade. Juniors and seniors at Neuqua Valley, Naperville Central, and Naperville North use our College Admission Essay program starting in March of junior year.

Illinois ELA assessments

These are the assessments Naperville students take. LTWN builds the skills each one tests.

Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) ELA

Grades 3 to 8

State assessment covering reading comprehension, literary analysis, and written response. Replaced PARCC in 2019.

ACT (Illinois State Assessment)

Grade 11

Illinois uses the ACT as its 11th-grade state assessment starting spring 2025. Strong performance on the English, Reading, and Writing sections aligns directly with the skills LTWN builds.

PSAT 8/9 and PSAT 10

Grades 8, 9, and 10

Administered in schools as preparation for NMSQT and SAT. Verbal sections test precisely the skills LTWN 360 and Test Prep build.

LTWN provides a unique learning experience unparalleled by any other education provider. They are personally invested in student outcomes and take pride in their commitment to success. Our two children have been part of the LTWN family for over 7 years, and we keep going back for guidance!

Questions from Naperville parents

Are there other Naperville and Aurora families in the classes?

Yes. A number of our families are in IPSD 204 and District 203. Classes also include students from Plainfield, Bolingbrook, and Wheaton. The small-group format keeps classes at 6 to 8 students, so your child always works alongside peers at the same level regardless of district.

How does LTWN prepare students for the IAR and the Illinois ACT?

The IAR ELA assessment tests reading comprehension, literary analysis, and written response skills at every grade level. Our LTWN 360 program builds those skills from grade 2 upward through close reading, structured writing feedback, and grammar instruction. Students who join the ACT/SAT Test Prep track in 8th or 9th grade see the same skills applied directly to the English, Reading, and Writing sections of the ACT.

My child is already doing Mathnasium or Kumon. Is there room for LTWN too?

Most families manage it without issue. LTWN requires one 75-minute class per week plus 20 to 30 minutes of at-home practice four times per week. Parents tell us the writing practice goes quickly once students build the habit, and the skills carry across every subject.
