If an instructor transition does occur, we manage it carefully and ensure the incoming teacher has a full briefing on your child.

Students are writing, reading aloud, responding to each other's work, and participating in discussion throughout the 75 minutes. There is very little sitting and listening. The small group size means your child cannot disappear into the background — they are an active participant. Most parents who have this concern before starting tell us afterward that their child is far more engaged than they expected.

What technology does my child need? Just a laptop and Zoom, or something more?

A laptop or desktop computer with a working camera and microphone, a reliable internet connection, and access to Zoom and Google Classroom. That is it. Google Classroom is free with any Google account. We send full setup instructions after enrollment so your child is ready before the first session.

My child hates writing and gets anxious about it. Would this make things worse?

This is one of the most common things we hear, and it is one of the most rewarding situations to work with. Writing anxiety almost always comes from one of two places: past negative experiences with red-pen corrections, or a fear of not being good enough. Our instructors are trained to build confidence first — to find what your child does well and build from there. Many of our most enthusiastic, dedicated students are children who arrived hating writing. The shift usually happens within the first few sessions when they realize they are capable of more than they thought.

My child is already a strong writer who gets praised at school. Is LTWN too easy for them?

A student who is praised at school is often getting praised by comparison to their peers — which is a low ceiling. LTWN works at a level above school grade, which means your strong writer will be challenged in ways school has not challenged them. We push strong writers to develop their voice, tackle complex arguments, write literary criticism, practice public speaking, and refine their work through real revision. Talented students who never receive structured challenge plateau. LTWN is where they do not.

My child is shy and never volunteers to speak in groups. How does that work in a class of 6–8?

My child is in 2nd grade. Is that really old enough to get meaningful benefit from this?

Second grade is one of our most popular and productive starting points. Children at this age are building the foundational habits — how to get ideas onto a page, how to write a complete sentence, how to tell a story with a beginning, middle, and end. Starting now means those habits are in place before middle school, when the academic demands accelerate significantly. It is much easier to build a strong foundation at 7 or 8 than to retrofit one at 12 or 13.

We travel a lot. What happens if my child misses two or three consecutive weeks?

First, keep in mind that your child can often attend from wherever they are traveling — all they need is a laptop and a reliable connection. If they do miss multiple weeks, use the makeup system for what you can and keep up with the homework assignments on Google Classroom. The instructor will also post video recordings for missed classes.

Yes — we offer a $50 discount for each additional enrollment from the same family after the first. If you are enrolling two or more children, mention that during the consultation and our team will apply it to your account.

We do not offer a money-back guarantee in the traditional sense, but we do offer something more meaningful: a free assessment and a free consultation before you spend a single dollar, so that you can make an informed decision with no risk. If after joining you find it is genuinely not the right fit, you can request to end the enrollment at the close of the current month. We do not trap families in programs that are not working.

We want to try one season and see how it goes. Is that okay, or do you expect a year-long commitment?

One season is a perfectly reasonable way to start, and we encourage it. There is no expectation or pressure to commit to a full year upfront. Many of our longest-term families started exactly that way — one season to try it, and then stayed for five or six years because the results were undeniable. Start with a season, pay attention to what you observe, and make your decision from there.
