Whether your child is taking the SAT or the PSAT/NMSQT, our SAT Prep Workshop will help them gain the poise, pacing, and precision they need to do well on their exams. With our class, your child will learn to take the test instead of letting the test take them!
This comprehensive semester-long program provides your child targeted coaching in the Reading and Writing sections of the SAT—an exam that will help them gain admission into elite universities and the potential to become a National Merit Scholar. Our seasoned educators teach and provide your child a weekly mini-lesson to help them build healthy test-taking and study habits outside of class. We supply all textbooks and digital testing materials so that you, parents and guardians, can keep your minds at ease!
Your child has the choice of partaking in the workshop for the Fall Semester (September—December), the Winter/Spring Semester (January—May), or the Summer Semester (June—July), with classes for Grades (8-11). We hold our weekly classes synchronously and remotely, with each lesson lasting for 90 minutes. Our instructors balance each lesson between formal lectures as well as a participation-based classroom environment so that your child can grow through democratic pedagogy. Every classroom is based on equity, with students getting equal amounts of engagement and individualized feedback, made possible by our small class sizes—every cohort exceeding no more than 10 students.
Our unique methodology helps your child to build the necessary test-taking tactics to ace the verbal portions of the SAT. We have successfully helped students in the past to score a perfect 800 in the Reading and Writing sections, as well as perfect 8’s in the Essay section. Successful students who have taken this workshop have raised their scores anywhere from 100 to 200 points!
Our success comes from analyzing your child’s baseline skills to understand their strengths, and how they can employ these strengths to overcome test-taking challenges. We provide specialized strategy textbooks, workbooks, and digital materials, all taught by expert coaches in personally-tailored lessons. Your child takes between four and six fully-proctored and timed practice tests; in addition, coaches provide detailed feedback on all essays. While this workshop might lead your child to be the next National Merit Scholar or potential ivy-league freshman, it most importantly helps them learn the importance of personalizing the test to their needs.
As the writer and psychologist, Angela Duckworth, said, “Our potential is one thing. What we do with it is quite another.” At LTWN, we encourage your child to persevere even under stress and to constantly challenge themselves. Through our SAT Prep Workshop, they will get the support they need to continue becoming resourceful, responsible, and confident young adults.
